Will presents his ‘Heygate’ composition as part of an evening devoted to urban architecture run by Passengerfilms and UCL Urban Lab Films. Also on the bill are the feature film Beautiful Friend and two recent documentaries. There will be a Q&A after the screenings. 7pm, Tuesday the 15th May, The Screen @ Rada, Bloomsbury. Entry £4.

Will performs with Carol Watts at the opening event of the Sound/ Space pop-up record shop and project space in Bermondsey on Saturday 5 May. He and Carol will be presenting three works developed during a two-year period of collaboration.

‘Heygate’ (Will Montgomery)/ ‘Looking for narratives on small islands’ (Robert Curgenven) is now available to UK and EU buyers from Robert’s site, Recorded Fields, and to US buyers from Winds Measure. The release comes in white vinyl with a letterpress print and obi.

“Heygate“, a composition emerging from Will’s work on the south London’s Heygate estate is released in March on Winds Measure, with a track by Robert Curgenven on the other side. Pre-orders from 15 February. This white-vinyl 12″ record will be available from Winds Measure (US), direct from Will or Robert (UK & EU) or from various retail outlets.

Will is presenting his Heygate work at the last of the Royal Academy’s three ‘Future Memory‘ events on Saturday 21 May. The afternoon-long discussion will focus on the relationship between memory and space.

Essex dreams

Will is taking part in the ‘University of Dreams‘ at Essex University. A composition made from sound recordings of the campus at night will form part of an exhibition in May. The piece will be presented at an event featuring Iain Sinclair, Marina Warner, Ralph Hawkins and Jeremy Reed on 4 May. Image © Lynne Pettinger.

Will is participating in Resonant Cities, an audio project spanning seven urban centres: Brussels, Ghent, Hong Kong, London, Madrid, Mons and Seoul. A CD featuring mixes of field recordings from all the locations is released in late 2011. A live event on 23 December 2010 will include audio sourced live from the mobile phones of participating artists in each city.
